ok.. vocals completed...

the vocals really finish up the song. the gtr licks, now I see how they fit in. Nice. It needs a little "something" to help the production...like a keyboard coming in the 2nd verse...or something along those lines. ...kinda like how the bg vocs do...except do something a little earlier. At 3:12, it "struggles" a little with the gtr leads. I'd bring up the ld vocals too...just a touch....but I prefer *vocal mixes* anywazz. The groove is sooo nice, but it carries on a bit, and with some added tracks (added and subtracted, here and there), I think the building/un-building of the arrangement/song would be improved a bit. I think I mentioned the fade out before...I'd end it before that last bass note. You have plenty of time in your "outro" to do that...Infact, you could just do a nice long 30 sec. fade or so....and out before where you get out now. Again, nice clean recording.

Nice tune! I love the backing vocal parts- they sound really airy and cool. A nice, thick mix.

Now it could just be that my ears are fried and I have a headache, but is the over all sound just a little too midrangey in the ear fatigue area? It could just be me.

Its nice to hear badgas's words from the "Woolton Church" thread. Twice as cool that its a HR.com collaboration! Cool squared! Cubed, even!

I listened to the instrumental first, several times. Trying to get the melody to match the words.
Then I found that there was the completed song.
Know what? I was close on the melody in a few spots.

As soon as I get my stuff here put together, I'll do my version of it. But be warned, I'm not a singer. Maybe I'll hum it, or have Dunk, my cousin sing it.

Great work on it, Mesh and Emeric.
I was in total shock when I heard it.

sounds great to me.

I love the space the vocal is in, even though I think the level of the vocal is a tad loud.

You guys - Meshuggah, Emeric, Badgas - that was absolutely wonderful! You know I just thought of something; it's a Sweddish, Canadian, American collaboration. Now isn't that cool! It makes me proud to be a part of this community, and to get to know all you incredibly, talented people from all over the world. More! More!

P.S. Shhh...I am listening to this in the early a.m. hours of the morning. I just got scolded and told to go to bed. :D

mixmkr:
Yeah... I got a Korg Wavestation coming in a couple of weeks.. I'll see what I can do.. The fade-out will be fixed aswell..

Mr. Shaeffer:
Yeah.. Those backing-vox added a really nice touch.
About the tonal balance.. It sounds ok on my Tannoys, but on my big Dynaudios it was a little bit harsh. I'm also not satisfied with the sound of the bass. I'll have to experiment a li'l bit more with that..

Badgas:
Looking forward to hearing your take on it.

CyanJaguar:
Thx..
I love the space the vocal is in, even though I think the level of the vocal is a tad loud.
Blame Canada!!

langleyt:
You liked the guitar-solos better than the vox and the lyrics, eh? ;)

F'ing cool tune peep! How'd you do that?:D

I f your looking for constructive criticism you won't get any hear I think it sounds great!

Nice playing, smooth sound good singing, words. Great job!

Crazy, Meshuggah!

Great mood piece. I liked the harmonies and lead guitar best also. If anything the lead vocal is too far back, but on the other hand you don't want to lose that ethereal quality. The accompanying guitar is a little too dominant at times; I'd slide it down a tad.

Thx rats. I feel all warm and cosy now :)

LI Slim. Yeah.. I'm working a little on variantions in the verses, and I'll check the balance in the mix once again.

Thx for listening.

D@mn another reason I can't wait to get home tonite!
I'll def'ly check this out!!!

Nice.:) Vocals remind me of a cross between David Byrne and Lou Reed.

Excellent! Makes my mixes sound like pure !@$*(&&)++^!!!!!
Now what do I do with all this gear? Maybe I could take up golf.

Great stuff guys - I can't believe the talents floating around this BBS - every time someone posts a song they seem to get better and better.

(The song seems somehow reminisscant of the Tragically Hip)

Chow for now,
Alaking.

Em,badgas and MeshMan; BRAVO!!! Emeric,U multi-talented punk!
You handled the vocs on point! Git provided the harmonic and rhythmic balance against the backdrop of the other instruments
most well but at times a tad overwhelmed the song. Great,feel-good jammy recorded with subtlety yet forceful!
I listened to this baby 4 times and burned it to c/d as it is now part of my "chill-out with brewski" faves.

Yeah baby, this was performed and recorded by pros!
Kinda' makes me wanna' sell my gear and take up photography!

Well, as usual, Meshuggah's stuff sounds like crap. But now he's dragged Emeric and Badgas into the mud, too...

This stuff makes me want to abandon this BBS. But then I remember the possiblity of hearing the collaborative genius of FT and lanac, and realize what a mistake that would be.

I hate this song. I hate the internet for letting me hear such garbage. And I will ALWAYS hate those friggin' Canameriswedes...

 sheesh

:D

barefoot.. :D

Buffalo Bob.. You'll surely make more money from playing golf than I will....

Alaking. Thx man..

Tex.. yeah.. friday.. I'll be close to the bar...

MQQ.. I take it you'll hear it often then.....

Kelly sucks.

very professional sounding
but did you play around with the mixer faders?
i think when vocal comes in all tracks still sound as loud as intro
and alittle bit of pattern variation willbe more cool
like the ones near the end
cheers
