Artcore hollowbody - increadable guitar... for any price
Agreed.

I love my Artcore, and the only modern hollowbodies I've played that even compare to it are Gretches. Epi's sound okay, but definately not as good as the Ibanezes IMO, and they feel like shit when you play them, pardon my french. Don't get me wrong, the Epiphones are still a great deal, but Artcores match up to guitars 3-4 times their price.

As far as the sound, hollowbodies give some of the fullest rock sound I've heard. I think most people are just afraid of the blues appearance of 'em, but hook them up to your distortion and give them a chance, I don't think you'll be let down.

The only watch out on the true hollowbodies (as opposed to semi-hollow) is the feed back issue on stage - Obviously this can be a good thing, but can be a bad thing just as easily.

I think it's pretty cool at home to get controllable feedback through a little tiny practice amp without breaking glass or relationships.

would the artcore be a good choice for pop punk?
because the epiphone sounded good on a crate tube amp at guitar center

It all depends on the sound you're looking for.

I personally believe a great pop-punk sound could be created with an Artcore.

I think you should get the Epi. It sounds like that one really spoke to you. I've been thinking about getting one myself, because I need another guitar. Like I need another hole in my head.

"I have an Artcore hollowbody - increadable guitar... for any price. But that's just my opinion. Go to GC in the middle of the day in the middle of the week and plan on spending a few hours there. Try every style of guitar in there - from the cheapest solid body single coil to most expensive hollow humbucker in every amp... "

this is what i did a few weeks ago except i was just looking at hollowbodies and i kept going back to the artcore so i bought it. definitely get the one with the bigsby on it. its a lot of fun.

im also amazed at controlled feedback i can get with the artcore through my blues jr. tweed. i have a bunch of other guitars and tube amps and this is the only guitar that reacts this way. i think im going to record it and put it up.

please do.

i like the look of the epi so much more though, and it seems to fit my style more.

i was also playing it and like it gave me that kind of inspirational feel.

and in my opinion the artcore is too big and is kinda too cluttered.

i like the simple look of the epi and how it sounded with distortion more.

did you try the epi?

Well, the epi's do feel smaller, and if you like the sound that much more, then go for it. There's nothing really wrong with them and if they fit your sound and your style then that's the guitar for you. :p

is 300+ worth to spend on one of these guitars or should i save and get an amazing one?

Save your pennies and get a Heritage. It is worth it.

Beautiful! How does it sound? Where'd you get it? How much? Which model?

it sounds really good. my cousin has a small guitar shop. he traded me for some studio time for his band. it is the jt-136 vine. it has a rosewood bridge. the bridge is not fastened to the body. it just sits on it and is held down by the strings. guess that is supposed to transfer more resonance to the body? it is a gibson es-175 copy...

I gotta second the Heritage comment. I have the H575 with a few more bells and whistles and it is a great instrument. A true work of art. It plays like butta. I'd buy another one in a heart beat.
