Bass players can't get laid... 😢
Tell that to Lemmy, Paul McCartney, Sting, Bill Wyman, Gene Simmons, Glen Cornick, Tom Hamilton, Noel Redding, John Entwistle, Phil Lynott......
It's not even a myth anymore ! :sneaky:

One of the reasons I don't poast on many online forums is that there is an echo chamber effect.

I've been buying old guitars since the late 80s when I was delivering newspapers and cutting lawns, and have always bought what I liked. These days the bloozeman lusting after the TV yellow Jr is the same Kramer player that thought I was a moron for paying $500 for one in 1990.

I have a light touch and have never had a guitar re-fretted aside from old ones that came worn. I have a Music Man Cutlass I got from the factory with stainless frets on it and it's a nice guitar. It's very fun to play. It reminds me of a friend's old MGBT. I prefer my old ES-355 with regular original frets compared to a late 1970s Caddilac with the big leather seats. It's a different thing, but both are very fun.

These days, much of the guitar community is very mean-spirited and myopic. In my opinion, it kind of reflects a society where people sit in a room with a phone or laptop vs people who are out there playing for fun or to make a living.

This translates into the homogenous guitar toanz/riffs we hear on YouTube clips and a lot of attention to details that don't matter as much as the playing does.

I love gear and have too many guitars, but my main focus has always been playing music for fun and to make a living. I wish more people would enjoy playing than argue about fret wire or delay times.

:)

I wonder if there’s construction forums where they argue about the best hammer to use. Or Makita versus Milwaukee. :D

Are your guitars finished in nitro or poly?😜

I'm not saying resonance is a bad thing, people love it, but, basically the more resonance the less sustain of the strings....Les Paul believed it too.
