For syncing them, use a 9-pin shielded D-sub cable. For transferring digital audio between them, use standard TOSLINK optical cables.

There are sync cables available on eBay. I have no idea of the quality, but some appear to be new in the packaging. Search "ADAT sync cable."

Can't really justify the expense of a BRC for only 2 machines
