My nigs I got a credit card.

But what does it do to the quality? What do you loose when you record at 44.1 (which is what CDs are) And which format of dvd has 96kHz for the audio? I think DVD-Audio, and if you record at 44.1 you lose output sound because it wont break down the sample rates correctly.
 
What won't break down the sample rates correctly? How does that effect the way you hear the music?

Oh... I see... it's okay to buy the most expensive audio post production package out there to go w/ your gamer's audio card.... because you put it on a credit card... even though money is scarce. Add "stupid" to the list....

:confused: You amaze me. You have the situation you have, and you spend nearly $1000 on recording software (or not)? I'm not trying to knock you man, but that makes ZERO sense to me. Anyway, I'm all for starting with cheaper stuff - I didn't start with the best - and I still don't have the "best", as I said in my last post.

You can't honestly come in here with your attitude, and then tell people to stop posting because "we" don't know what we're talking about. Anyway, I'm done - which I'm sure you'll be happy about because I'm not "helping" you.

I believe technologies are very similar considering just the hertz of the sound it produces.

They are both 96KHZ and same with Emu1820 96KHZ.

Ummmm, I have both cards, and they are NO way similar in quality. The Emu is in a different class - better convertors by FAR (better than the 002 inho). It has mic pres; I wouldn't consider what's on the audigy a pre at all......

the fact that they both support the same bit depth and spampling frequency means nothing. there and MANY cards that only support 16 bit/44.1 khz sound miles better than the audigy.

You did your bit for sanity in this thread, mate, but if you read all his other threads you'll see he isn't worth it. Don't sweat it!

I'll be honest though, I've been called a n***** so many times in the last 24 hours that I'm checking the mirrors round my house to see if I've done some kinda reverse Michael Jackson skin tone thing!

Yeah, I read them all, but today decided to add my 2 cents. :) It's on deaf ears, but maybe it'll click with him eventually. I try to follow the "if you don't have anything nice to say" principle (which I've failed at here some time ago), and I don't think I said anything to crazy...hopefully just truths.

LOL on the second part!! I think all that crap is coming out of frustration, but it's gotta stop nonetheless.

No seriously, for the money he's suposedly spent on Nuendo added to the surfacejunk pre and comp he could have booked himself into any half decent studio and recorded his 12 track CD with an engineer that knew what hole you plug the mic in :p
