My nigs I got a credit card.

But what does it do to the quality? What do you loose when you record at 44.1 (which is what CDs are) And which format of dvd has 96kHz for the audio? I think DVD-Audio, and if you record at 44.1 you lose output sound because it wont break down the sample rates correctly.

I'm 19 years old feeding my baby sister and getting her to school and everything, money is scarce for me, do you think if I had money I would buy an emu-1820m? hell no, i'd buy protools HD accel and or Digidesign 002, i just need good sound so i can record my 12 tracks, compile a cd and start pushing my cds at the mall and stuff so i can make money to do bigger projects, u feel me? you guys must have a happy life all dandy and shit cus im having a tough time, and im not the smart kid in town, i aint got no education wahtsoever but i read a lot of psychology books, anyways im looking for help not a lecture, if u dont know what u talkin bout stop posting cus im getting mad confused.

Anyway, I'm all for starting with cheaper stuff - I didn't start with the best - and I still don't have the "best", as I said in my last post.

and for those of you who think Audigy 2 is only for gaming, do some research, because Creative which is the same company that makes Emu 1820m makes this as well.
And it comes with BOTH a hardware module, and a sound card., etc.,
I believe technologies are very similar considering just the hertz of the sound it produces.

They are both 96KHZ and same with Emu1820 96KHZ.

Ummmm, I have both cards, and they are NO way similar in quality. The Emu is in a different class - better convertors by FAR (better than the 002 inho). It has mic pres; I wouldn't consider what's on the audigy a pre at all......

the fact that they both support the same bit depth and spampling frequency means nothing. there and MANY cards that only support 16 bit/44.1 khz sound miles better than the audigy.
