monty,

I prefer the b2 sound to the akg c3000 and by far to that at 3035. THe 3035 is a horrible sounding mic IMHO.

rthodox,

Most mics have a boost in the highs. Not only the b2, but almost every mic out there.

THe fact is that flat mics tend to have their highs boosted by the engineer anyhow, so manufacturers decided to add the boost from the factory.

I'd look into the c1....I just ordered one, and Its coming on monday (I'm quite excited) Haven't heard it yet, but from everything I've read it's supposed to be pretty cool.

The "guts of an nt2" thing doesn't really sell me. Trying to not get TOO much into another enteraining behringer war....

I was told behringer mixers had "the guts of the mackie vlz series" and that mackie was being sued for it. This was not the case when it showed up.

If it has to be the nt1 or the b2, I'd buy an nt1. (IMHO) It's a good mic, it sounds kinda thin, but still sounds good.

Happy Mic hunting...

All I have to say is the next time I complain about driving 30 minutes to mars music because the samash and guitar center that are 10 minutes away, don't have what I want....I'll think of the people in other countries :)
