Holy sh*t!!!

I sat down last night to start laying down the keeper tracks for our submission and for the first time EVER n-Track started crashing on me. It finally ended up crashing my PC regularly, which floored me because I'm running Windows 2000 and I've rarely seen it crash, at home or on any PCs at work.

I ended up re-installing n-Track and its plugins a few times and finally got it working again. But holy cow was I getting nervous. I didn't want to have to submit the version of the song Iposted in the Cave last week, but if I had no choice ...

Keep your fingers crossed, wish me luck, send mojo, whatever. I'll take anything, just do anything you can think of to help me finish up this song with no hiccups!!!

Dont feel bad....

all of a sudden one DX plugin is about the max I can go.....the only thing ive done is install an ethernet card on it...

I blew a tweeter in one of my monitors....its still under warranty, but if i send it off now, it wont be back before the 1st.....so if my mix is off balance, oh well....

the G-String on my guitar is hanging up and i cant figure out why.....

my throat has been sore the past few days (whats new) so ill have a scratchy vocal.....

this is the LAST time im waiting to the last minute.......

Sounds like you have a corrupted file somewhere.... time for a wipedown and reinstall perhaps???

Yeah, that definitely crossed my mind while trying to get things working again. In fact, I still plan to do that. The wrinkle is that I'm seriously out of time to complete our song for the compilation CD. I'm on vacation as of Saturday so we need to finish tracking tonight to allow me time to mix it, create the submission package, and mail it by Friday. Rebuilding will have to wait until I get back (hopefully without jeopardizing my ability to finish the song!)

Cool, n-Track hung in there and I was able to finish our song and get it in the mail yesterday!

I'm kind of bummed though. Our final takes were performed about as well as we ever played that song but for some reason I couldn't get a mix I was really happy with. It's OK, but not as good as the demo I posted in the Clinic last week.

Oh well, it's in the mail (as is a pre-order for a second copy of the CD!) and that's what counts. Can't wait to hear everybody else's finshed products too!

The same thing happened to me too...

Wednesday, I was trying to get my vocals down, and after about 4 to 5 takes, I started getting "Wave file empty" errors every time I pressed the "record" button on my Tascam US-224, which I have jiggered to work with N-Track.

Then I got a "fatal error" message and a bunch of gobbldygook, before the program closed on me. Ended up rebooting.

Eventually, I came to the conclusion that the ASIO drivers for my VX Pocket were acting up on me so I switched to it's MME drivers and all was well.

I had version 3.2.1 too. I'm thinking of going back to the last version that worked well for me (3.2.0).
