Yes, but there are a lot of pus-filled wankers that sit on the net, doing nothing with their cringing, semen-stained fingers but looking for ways to go "hey, if I say X on this board, can I get a rise out of this guy?" Then there are other people that think that you are full of yourself and they don't suck at all. They may have went to Europe with 50k just to study recording and smoke dope for a year while they play with Neve and SSL consoles and study with people who really know what they are doing. People who don't record in basements. People who actually make money and decisions in the industry.

Those people really suck because they won't stroke your ego like you want it to be stroked and you may have to live with it because you ain't ever worked with Allan Parsons or whoever you might just be some dork with a studio in your house.

The notion of going to Europe (excellent country; we beat them in World War II, you know... ) to smoke dope for a year pretty much speaks for itself, don'tcha think? I mean, really. Truth is, I haven't been posting in the clinic much, and it's because I'm busy most nights recording an album. I don't exactly just crank them out. They take months to finish.

I realized long time back that when you're having fun and friends are giving you support, it feels nice. But then comes along one person, who is either in disagreement to be a jerk or they just honestly disagree. Some say it nicely and others more bluntly. It feels like crap sometimes to hear someone just blah blah and sometimes it just plain pisses one off. The thing of it is, for every one person that does not like you, there's 1 hundred that do.

In the end it doesn't matter how good you are with your songs and with your skill (and you are good and talented and don't need to worry about that). God willing, a long long time from now, you'll sit down with the grandkids and have good memories, not about the great hit that you wrote but about the fun you had doing it. Case in point, Careless Whisper was one song that took George Michael to the A-list celebrity level but he didn't like the song all that much. His favorite song around that time was A Different Corner.

So put on them overalls* and start kicking out some tunes, boy!
