I've been dumping all this old stuff I did to disk. This was from my first solo album. Man I gotta say, these new mixes are killer compared to the old casette mixes I did. I colud never get the dynamics I wanted to hear In this song until now. Plus using software and some nice plugins... check out the Ultrafunk reverbs on this one! I finally found THE reverb plug-in.
This was tracked live. I tried to do everything live back then, kept it real. The last line I overdubbed, and you hear the bleed from the guitar mic too, so it's (happily) accidentally doubled. You'll here some alarm clock noise, in there, I don't know where it came from, I could take it out, but.... It would kill that sweet tape hiss.
I'm going to put all this stuff out, three disks of it... I'll post some of the other mixes too, I think as a whole this body of my work is the strongest, back when recording was of necessity, not priority. I didn't care what equipment I used back then, just used what I had.
57 on guitar, ATM41HE on vox, and a line in. Three tracks, first take...
and yes, the title is a nod to Led Zepplin.
