Now how can I sync all that!??

So, I've got my MIDI Keyboard and I've got my PC, actually I want to make that 2 PCs...
I want to be able to play music at some gig, so here is how I want it to work:
I want to use rebirth on one PC, and fruity loops in a laptop, so that I can play songs I've compose on each or on both and then shut one up and let the other keep a song, then while fruity loops is quiet I change the song file and mix it up, having the abillity to modify some things in real time... they keyboard is a cheap casio one, I want to make some arpeggios with it, that's all, maybe some strings...
Now, I know they all must be using the same bpm but how in the world I make them to sync?!?! right now I can only do it manually, and maybe I can do some decent sync I mean try and push play in the exact moment, but that's not good for a live performance, I can fail to do it, and I would be really ashamed...

get a bloody rs7000 that computer deal is too unstable and outdated. It's better, cooler, and cheaper in the long run.

Though, To sync the bastards, all you need is a sequencer or another program capable of sync output (floops might be, don't know) on one of the computers and a hubis midi loopback cable (search for it on yahoo, its a free proggie). Then you adress the sequencers sync to one of the virtual outputs and set rebirth to sync to that.
Then, with Hubi's you route the virtual output to your soundcards midi out and rout a cable from there to the input on the other computer.

Sounds like a mess though...
 
Wait a minute... That was almost like chinese to me... I don't know anything about MIDI, I just know what it is, but not how it works!
Let me see if I got it right... I'm going to get a sequenser and Hubi's MIDI LoopBack Cable, also I suppose I need more MIDI Cables, since I only have one that I can connect to my keyboard and the other side to the joystickport in one of the PCs, right??
This is so confusing...
And what did you mean by "another program capable of sync output "?
 
That seems like pretty much the same program as hubis right??
Ok, thanks!! I will download both and see wich one I am able to use... anyway I do want to use 2 computers because maybe someone will help me out a bit in fruity loops and I would like to have separate line outs so I can mix them with an external mixer...

I was looking at some problems people had with these programas and it seems like it need a powerfull PC to work ok, is that true??

What Kind of cable will I have to use?? will I need to get like a MIDI hardware router to plug all the MIDI out/ins in there??
 
By the way, I connected my keyboard by MIDI to the PC with rebirth and started like a built-in rythm I wanted to usea along with rebirth (I know those Casio Rythms are sooooooooooooooooooo cheesy, but that's what I got... I like the arpeggio in this particular one) but how in the world am I supposed to start the casio rythm and the rebirth at the same time?? I mean, I can only use the keyboard as a trigger, I know I have to do something so they stat at the same time, the MIDI connection is already set, I just don't know what it is...
 
Your midi and keyboard questions might be answered quicker, if you posted them in the midi forum or the keyboard forum.

I'll try to answer your questions when I come back in from DJ'ing at the clubs or in the morning.

So, here's a new problem I've got...
I finaly found that I moved something in the MIDI config of my Keyboard and it finally made rebirth start when the rythms in the keyboard started, but It's not exact!! and you know these kind of things have to be very exact... do you know If maybe I need to put more RAM on my Pc or something like that??
 
What is the rpm's of your computers hard drive?

uumm I have no idea, but that HD is veeeeeeeeeeeery old, it's 2 Gbs total...
so...
do I have to use a better HD??
I can try on the laptop wich is faster...

Turntables aren’t exact and syncing beats from one table to the other is what DJing’s all about.

I’ve done this sort of thing using Acid on two computers and a Dj mixer. It works well. I just cued the 2nd computer and clicked until the beats lined up. It took a bit of trial and error because different songs would have different latencies (delays) depending on how many tracks and how many effects I put in.

It did seem like the tempos weren’t 100% exact because if I let the two computers play in tandem for too long it would start to sound just a little sloppy. But, I could fade between tunes or punch in fills from the 2nd computer, no problem.

Give the manual method a try. You might like it.:)

wouldn't it be cheaper for you to buy an extra soundcard?? and a nice little mixer with headphone cue? just a thought...
--- both yoke and hubi's are able to sync the two proggies...
 
I have an extra soundcard in one of the Pcs (Really cheap one), and maybe I could get a cheap mixer too... but how can that help me sync? you mean like doing a manual sync like a proper DJ in a disco does??
that sounds though to me! the other day I was in mars music looking at the new shit they had and I came up to this CD player that simulates the scratch ability of the vinyl and I tried to mix 2 tracks, you know set the bpm at the same and sync them, and I spent like and hour and didn't even get close to mixing it...
I don't know how this guys do...
