All mics sound the same.
Maybe this is the wrong area, but it seemed best to me.
My oddly-shaped church sanctuary has some weird dead spots and hot spots. Like many churches, when it was built and the audio system installed, it was never designed for a contemporary worship band. It was designed more along the lines of just a small choir and a piano. As it is right now, we have tiny house speakers and large floor monitors. The house speakers hardly get used, most of our house sound comes from the monitors.
Anyway, how can I go about pinpointing the dead spots/hot spots and determining where I need to place treatment panels to even out the sound. We obviously don't have the budget to hire a professional for this and I'm not looking for perfect results. But if I could approximate where treatment needs to be placed to balance out the acoustics, I could easily build some diffusers/absorbers and mount them.
Thanks for your help.
