No right channel when recording

I did some recording last night and tried panning hard right on my 2nd gtr track and it was dead silent. Panning left has no problems. Now I did remove my BBE from my chain, my keyboard from my mixer and added a THD HP-16 and it worked previously. I don't think that could be it.

My recording setup is mono (left, using a sm-57 to my mic preamp to soundcard) so I understand that it records on the left.
But shouldn't I be able to pan R on a track that's already recorded?

To troubleshoot I set my inputs up to either Left or Stereo and pan left all is fine. I set up the input to right or pan right 100%, silence. No signal

I'm using a Delta 66 with 1/4" breakout box into my mixer. Input 3 goes to L on mixer Ch 5 Input 4 goes to R on mixer Ch 6. Just started happening the other day.

Before I put everything back in does anyone have any suggestions for troubleshooting or am I missing something?

Sounds like you might be recording stereo wav files, with signal only on the left channel. Since you're recording only one signal (the SM57) make sure you setup your recording software to record mono tracks.

I don't know if it's your situation but a common reason causing what you describe is the cable setup going from your mixer to your soundcard. If it's a single input on your soundcard then you have to use a stereo plug (with ring and tip) from your mixer output. If it's not your cable set up then it's probably what gordone is saying, make sure you setup your recording software to record mono tracks.
