No audible distortion.....

This happens every time. For years now, whenever I get into it with someone, everyone else stays away and probably thinks something like "There goes Rami again, getting into it with someone. What an asshole". But, it NEVER EVER.........EVER fails that, eventually, everyone of you realizes that I'm just faster at figuring people out and call it exactly like it is. I don't have more arguments with people, I just do everyone a favor by having them sooner than any else and I've never been wrong yet. Remember that next time, you hypocrites!!!! :D

in TM's defense (can't believe I'm saying that) his first post did say specifically that HE didn't hear any audible distortion. You can't really argue that point since he is the only one that hears what he hears and if he says he can't hear any distortion you have to take that at face value.

The thing I take issue with is when anyone tries to educate him about what the proper terminology is he gets defensive and takes it as a personal attack and refuses to EVER learn anything or expand his knowledge preferring instead to stay "an uneducated country boy" and then starts tossing off insults.
That's really the only thing that bothers me about him , well, that and his use of the word 'excepted' instead of 'accepted'......... his love and preference for analog is fine and I myself am an analog devotee.
But the stubborn refusal to allow that anyone knows anything except him ( there's the proper use of except ) and quickness to get insulting when people are perfectly polite is maddening.

You are perfectly right Bob and please ACCEPT my apology ok?

I have a term for that: Rami-fy. Serious. When used in a sentence, it would be, " Then Rami shows up and... well, Rami-fied the whole thread..."

I have a nice ass too.

Or at least, that's what they kept telling me that weekend I spent in jail.

this analog threads always turn to purty mouths sooner or later.

Thank goodness there was some humour in this "War and Peace" epic of a thread, otherwise I'd have been hauled away in one of those white jackets with extra long arms pages ago.

TASCAM MAN: Your analogue recordings have far more distortion of various sorts than even a fairly low bit rate digital recording. This is a fact.

With some of the cassette based analogue systems, this distortion is even worse than decent reel to reel analogue systems.

However, this doesn't matter. If that distortion is pleasing to your ear (and, hell, I still listen to my old vinyl because I like the sound) then go for it. Just don't claim it's distortion free.

We now return to our regularly scheduled bull.

Not a single word of insult there TASCAM MAN...simply something factual about how recording works.

Now for the insult: you and this thread are plainly here simply to troll and start a flame war. Yawn. Trolling went out of style about ten years ago. You're clearly stuck in some kind of internet time warp. Have fun, keep making your inane posts but don't you dare try passing your pseudo technical bullshit to newbies who actually wish to learn something.

How's that for an insult?
