3 Shure ES57 (clones)
I am mainly going to be recording male vocals rap, spoken word poetry, female and male r&b. I am thinking the RE20 will get the job done for the male vocals, but for females I feel I need something else, a warmer mic, I suppose. I was eyeing a Shure SM7 possibly for the job, but was looking to add a B1 to the collection as well as maybe an authentic SM57 or SM58, even though I've ab'ed and they sound almost identical with the ES57's. Should I invest in a better preamp or will this be fine for now. I am working on constructing a vocal booth, so I know that will add to my recording qualit, right now I record in a room with terrible acousitcs.
