Take a listen and lemme know what ya think.

All recorded in CEP and mastered in wavlab.

Kinda wondering what style you would classify this.

Thanks for the comments..

If you right click on the link and hit "save target as" it should work....

Right click/Save As... doesn't work, says file is not available.

Again, I have no complaints about your mix brokenwindow, and again I love the melodic arragement.

Did you upgrade your soundcard?

very good piece and well mixed.

Speakers prohibit me from making many judgments on things, but...
I love the spacey feel through most of it, kinda carries me off some. Nice. I think the drums may be panned out a tad far, the stereo image might be a little unrealistically wide. I kinda did the same thing on the one I have posted. Maybe thats your idea, though. I like it none-the-less. I very rarely like shit without vocals, but the instrumental nature and its mellowness kinda take away the need.
Me likes. More info on all of your chain, though. Cant leave that stuff out.

Sick

Loved it.

Again I'm listening on crappy speakers at work, but on my third time listening I can't fault the mix. Maybe the drums could do with a bit more body, but that's a personal thing. The arrangement builds very nicely, and I really like the guitar tone.

Giving this thread five stars.

Please tell us your setup.

pAp.

Excellent!

Sounds fantastic! It has a great vibe. Are those sampled drums? They sounds great.

The Pulp Fiction sample was fun too!

Amazing. Can you please give a little more indepth description of how you recorded everything. I would very much appreciate it. thanks man

Thanks for all the compliments..

CyanJaguar: I have the same soundcard.(Echo Darla) I think I'm just getting a tad bit better at everything. :p

tubedude: I kinda wanted a wide open feel for the song. I have 3 layers of rythm going on in most of it, and 2 layers of leads on most...so i had to get a lil crazy with the panning. Originally the drums didn't sound that wide until I put the multi-tap delay on the toms part..It kinda grew on me..so i left it. I do think the toms part could use a lil more reverb though.

PapillonIrl: I hear ya..I wish I had a drumset. I could do away with all the weak ass samples..heh

Dorker: Thanks for the compliment. I wanted the PF clip, but wanted to mess it up a bit. I put a slight pitch shift and some reverb on it. I think it fits good.

mattman925: Thanks for the reply.

My setup:
fender strat->POD->Echo Darla into computer at 24/44.
Same thing goes for the bass, (Ibanez soundgear) but in a couple of days..it'll be hooked to a Tech 21 SansAmp Bass DI

Drums/percussion is arranged in acid Pro using various loops/samples.

Everything was recorded in Cool Edit Pro. FX on instruments were mostly plugins. (Waves,TC Native)

Quick mastering job done in Wavelab using a few waves plugs. (EQ, Ren comp, L1 Ultramaximizer)

Thanks for all the replies..I really do appreciate it.

More suggestions are welcome...

PS. Anybody have any real sounding cymbals? I think the crash cymbals are the weakest part of the mix.

Thanks again.

Hey BW.. very nice tune. I really like the mood of it. Toms are a bitch to do with software.

I really, really dig the chord progressions, makes a really coolass chord texture with a LOT of feeling. THIS is music.

As for the drums, they really seem seperated in a bad way.... the melodies flow like water, then drums are like hitting a brick wall.... the panning of the toms is somewhat distracting.... would probably sound cool if the toms weren't harsh.... if you can't find better samples, I would at least recommend a bigger reverb or something to make all the drums sound a little more distant..... the music and guitars sound really big, like in a big space or big, big room, then the drums are just right there, and rather dry sounding.

I love the guitars too. Can you tell me exactly what you did tone wise for the clean guitars at the very, very beginning? Is that through POD too, or just direct? Neck setting?

Overall, awesome song. Think I'll keep this one on my harddrive.

Thanks for the replies..

Asi9: The guitars in the beginning are with the fender strat. Their are 2 guits doing rythm and 2 doing the lead-rythm. I was using the "Black Panel" preset on the Pod and used the neck pickup for one take and the mid/bridge pickup for the other. I did a few tweaks to the preset on the pod.

Meshuggah: Thanks man. Do some of the samples sound familiar?..They are from the pack you posted a while back.. :p

TheRealWaldo: Sorry bout that..I would...but i can't edit my original post anymore.

I have remixed the song and re-upped it to Nowhere Radio.

I brought the toms down a bit and put some reverb on them to blend them a bit better. I also toned the panning down a lil bit..but still kept the "space that i wanted. I did a few other lil adjusments also..I think it sounds a lot better.
