I have never recorded this style before but a client ( very good past client) had this tune he wanted done quick. Tracked the acoustic drums, elec, and acoustic gtrs, bass, and"more" cowbell 6/13/07, Vocals recorded 6/16/07 and mixed 6/18/07. One girl recorded vocals, all of them in 5 hours. The song was taught to her prior to session...she's good!

Kick is too fat and boomy. Maybe trim it back a little, raise the snare and toms a little. Bass guitar is not very well defined. The guitar's really weak in the mix. Try some panning and bring it more front. If you do these things you can leave the vocals where they are, otherwise the vocals, kick drum, and bass guitar dominate. Almost compete with each other.

I noticed the "Pretty" at the end popped the mic - you are using a pop filter, right? :p

The most important stuff is done right (performance is solid, and recording is crisp). Just needs some adjustment.

Pinky, funny as you are right on target with me. First, bass player could hardly pluck the string, could not get any level out at all, kick to much after listening on different setups, gtrs? well, maybe up, thats one I "may" disagree with, yes there is a pop at end with pretty, I'll compress it out, should be no problem
