lol the only tip he gave me that I used was instead of recording at like -6 to -3 dB like I normally do I recorded down around -18 to -15dB and compressed up to give it some volume...... It mad the vocals sound cleaner in my opinion and i was able to get louder on the mic without worring about distortion which helped me out with my presence and everything (i was more comfortable).........

as far as the freeway comparision I dont think i've gotten that one before..... people have been trying to figure out who I sound like for years.........lol

SWEEEETTT!!!!

Im gonna try that shi....

Nice man. My only problem is that I use protools and on the recording meters it doesnt tell you in numbers how much Db is being recorded.

How much preamp do you use? I normally set mine at 12 o clock. Guess Im gonna put her at 9 o clock now.

the meters on my preamp (audio buddy) suck so i really dont kno what its at lol... i just use the meter in AA to tell me how hot im recording

lets take this back to the top for the few people who didnt get to hear it lol

This is hot, reminds me of freeway but with your own style. The drum rolls are sic in this joint. This is can be a hot single, this is definitely something that can be performed at an event. The beat is very interesting and keeps my attention. keep it up fam!

You Fyre you got a dope voice man. And some great rhymes, feeling the flow too. Ellis is cool. The production is awesome too. Keep it up.

that's a good tip but keep in mind that you are decreasing your signal to noise ratio by doing that. If budget is an issue than Change gave you a good pointer btw, change is up on his game. getting a compressor with a built in pre would be a nice step up. hit up a music pawnshop, craigslist, e-bay and even the forum on here where people are selling equipment for the low low. What you are working with is definitely doing the job so don't get too wrapped up in gear but just remember that the better the gear the better the quality and you will hear a difference. The Audio buddy pre should definitely get replaced with something prosumer.

dang Fyre! that track is tight. at first listen it reminded me of a slower Freeway track, minus the winey voice. great work.

ha, ha, yeah I noticed he sounded like Free a little myself. reminds me of how shyne favored biggie naturally but he had his own identity. Keep doing your thing man, you have a lot of potential.

as far as getting radio play..... this afternoon im making an edited version of this track.... basiclly just taking out the profanity and changing the last verse a lil bit....... from there im just going to see who's hands i can get this joint into...... i appreciate all the good feedback tho...... it lets me kno i must be doin somethin right haha....... i dropped this track on like 2 other sites and got basiclly the same reaction from everybody........

I was going to ask who i needed to go to about gettin clearance for classical samples....... it doesnt really make any sence to me seeing as the actuall peice was written in 1801 in a foriegn country but a man who's dead now yet someone else still has ownership of it.... lol anyway

Fyre this is real talk right here. The joint is cool for listening on computer speakers and bumping in your personal car but when you want to present it professionally then you want to have it professional. What i'm saying is this is a business as well as an art and you are a businessman as well as an artist. You don't want to give anyone any excuses to turn your record away How To Get Your Song On The Radio . you did all of the preproduction at your crib and now you know that you are working with something so it's time to take it to the next level. go and get your joint recorded at a studio by a professional and slap a nice cd cover on the cd with your name, the track's name, webpage and contact info. Get you a Bio and when the radio spins your joint you can then create yourself a presskit. Notes I Took From A Music Seminar This is Big business and we all have to stay on top of our grind because these radio stations get cd's handed to them everyday and they are tired of hearing unprofessional recordings. When they play stuff that sounds unprofessional the listeners are like why isn't the bass hitting or why is the voice sounding like that and then they tune into another radio station or pop in a cd. you made it past a few levels but you still have some more to go.

iown even kno where to start wit that post u gave so much info in there lol... im a have to wait untill this weekend to really go thru it cause i got class and stuff the next couple days..... but yea man im a look into that lol.......

started wit a dream and some talent.... mad hard work..... now hopefully i can keep it goin

the way im really thinking about approaching this thing..... and again its just a thought is to try and put out a mixtape around hea sell as many copies as possible and probly get a manager..... from there just try to get a hold of the local scene..... i mean if im able to get a local buzz around here get some shows where maybe im the undercard or hell even just like open mics.... freestyle battles stuff like that..... then i go to the radio i got a better chance of them actually knowing who i am and not just passin me off as another wannabe....... lol this all sounds great in theory but truth be told iown even kno where to begin........... i guess it starts wit the music and i got that down good but after that im lost as "a hoe in church" haha......
