Useless Thoughts
just found out my old "Sony tc-fx120" tape deck not only plays but also records. im hoping to use this for recording some demos to tape for practice. i currently run everything through a behringer xenyx802 mixer (mainly acoustic guitar) the tc-fx120 has rca ins and outs on the back, for recording i assume i can link the rca ins and outs on my mixer to the ones on the tc-fx. is this the correct procedure?

You should be able to. Try it out. :)
 
thanks, i tried hooking up the mixer for a simple vocal test, i didnt get a signal, but ill experiment with it later on.
 
looks like ill need to run my mixer into the phono input in my teac stereo reciver (hooked up to my tape deck) then run the tape deck to record the phono input
 
You should be able to run tape out of the Beri to tape in on the sony. That way you get a direct signal from your mic mix to tape. Then out of Sony back to beri in OR back to your receivers "tape in" , to monitor what you have on tape. The ins and outs should match up, impedance wise.
