New to mix downs and mastering-how does this sound?

Er... yikes!

:eek: major digital distortion - you pushed levels WAY too hard... and the sound is very muddy too...

Not good at all, I'm afraid.......... sorry....
 
What kind of EQ settings should I use to improve this record? I really wanna get into mixing & mastering on my own, but don't know the ropes. And Beathoven, I used a Boss BR-8 for recording, and all kinds of production tools. On this particular track right here though, I used the Music Generator for Playstation 2 :-) just to be messin' around with different things to satisfy my curiousity.

I liked the music, but I guess that's not the point.


In another thread,(T-racks mastering) Bluebear told me that nothin would sound as good as taking it to a mastering facility.:(

Don't stop though, I won't, in the end he told me to go ahead and get some mastering stuff. But everyone says it takes a long time to get good at it, you'll improve with every try.
 
Oh yeah, I was about to ask you what kind of speakers are you using to mix with?
