Hi All,

I'm looking to buy some studio monitors and as i was doing some research on the net i cam across the following :

http://www.rcf.it/web/rcf/products/pro-speaker-systems/mytho-reference-monitors

Knowing the reputation and quality of RCF i expect these to be quite good monitors, all be it a new market for RCF. Unfortunately they don't seem to be available anywhere yet and i can't find pricing on them ??
Has anyone seen or heard these monitors yet and does anyone have an idea about pricing ? I would like to know your opnion on them ?
On paper they look pretty interesting to me !

cheers,

Moby

these are out now as the RCF Ayra range and i'm very very tempted by a pair of the ayra 5's but can't find anyone talking about them. has anybody used/heard them?

Well, i know this is very old, and goes to show quite how long i looked for monitors because when i wrote my last comment i had already been looking for a couple of months, but as an update i bought a pair of the RCF Ayra 6's after a lot of research and a listen in a store (which was the hardest part as the nearest store that had them to try was 250 miles away) and, after having them a week, it's fair to say that i absolutely love them. Very detailed mids, very natural highs, solid low end without being hyped. my only issue is that the low mids sound a bit "smooshed" (for want of a better word) but still more than usable. I'm still learning them but even after some quick mixes and checks on other systems to see how they translate they have done a sterling job so far. As always, YMMV, and i've spent a lot of time treating my room and moving stuff to optimise it (which, even with my old hi-fi speakers made a vast improvement) and for £328 for the pair they're outstanding. I was tempted by some other monitors in a similar price range and i'm sure they would've all done a good job really (although i must say that i thought some sounded dreadful as well!) but each had their own pro's and con's and, to my ears, the RCF Ayra's seemed to give me the most faithful representation of the sound.

I would happily recommend these to anybody looking for monitors in the sub £500 range but, as with most things musical, there isn't a one-size-fits-all so go and have a listen and get your room sorted first :)
