It seems alternative has become the current genre for anything now so I guess iit's alternative.

The only thing I'm not really happy with is the guitar sound. It's just so muffled and kinda lost. I think the main problem is that I live in an apartment and I can't crank my amp, and micing it at low volume just doesn't give me a full sound. I may try double micing it but I don't know if that will help.

Sorry, as I was linking it to a friend I realized it put the name in wrong. Should work now. Thanks for the heads up.

Hi, I loved the song, but I wouldn't call this heavy alternative at all. You have a very strong pop sensibility to your music, but it still totally rocks. Very accessible.

I didn't scrutinize every single note of this, but I don't see why something of this quality couldn't be out there being gobbled up by consumers.

You planning on putting together a CD? You should.
:)

I really didn't know what else to call it. Genres are very hard to place these days, not to mention labels are sucky.

Thanks for the comments guys.

I actually did put together about 12 songs for a demo/album thingie, but I have been too lazy to get off my ass and finish it. Trying to master it (sorry... enhance and normalize it :p ) but I suck at it. I should probably get a band together.

Not bad. Vocals need a little more depth. They seem kind of "laid on top of" the music. Add some reverb or delay.

Overall, this is a really cool song. There's some really nice work on the instruments. They just don't seem to "gel" all that well. Try to get all the effects and EQs to somewhat match so that everything feels as if it was recorded in the same space at the same time.

It's close, but it needs just a tad more mixing, EQing and effect work.

Very nice! Love the alternative/metal/pop sound.

I played around with some remixing last night. I'm not sure if it sounds better or worse.

sounds pretty good. The guitar style reminds me alot of Hum. Come to think of it, the whole thing reminds me alot of Hum.

The drums are FLStudio with some samples my boss gave me. They are pretty good. I just picked up a Sonic Implants kit though and I'm testing that out. I like being able to adjust velocity and whatnot. I want to get the drumkit from hell 2, but I might be looking for a new apartment soon and just had to spend money on my computer (needed another hard drive, ran out of space :(). But at some point I'll probably get it. But these make due pretty well for now.

Very nice -- like the guitar sounds a lot.

My only suggestion would be to bring the guitars down a little bit, they seem a little loud compared to everything else. Sounds like a guitar player mixed it :D

(I listened to the first mix BTW, I didn't notice the 2nd one until after the first one was already downloading.)

Nice man. Good tune. I'm a drummer and I like the sound of the samples you got. Good job.
So you from Jorsey. Me too. What exit?

I'm exit 14a off the NJT. Good old Bayonne. Only been in Jersey for a year and a half. I don't really like it. I mean it's nice, but I don't know anyone and everyone here tries so hard to be a thug or Soprano. At least in Bayonne anyways.

Although if you listen for the decay of each drum piece, you can tell it's a sample. But I'm not sure I would've caught it first couple of listens without it being brought up already in this thread. Great programming!

Guitar levels and sound made me happy, especially because of the song structure/feel. College radio, here you come!!! This sounds great and you definitely should be proud.

Only advice might be the back vox sounds too dry and could drop back a bit (or not, depending on the fx). Bass could be a bit more crisp, but now I'm nit-picking...

I'm on my 5th listen right now and plan on continuing!!!

I know Bayone very well. Played aroud there alot. Tuff area. Very blue collar. Not all Jersey is like that. I grew up not far from there. I moved about 20 miles west of that area. A bit more mellow out this way. Good luck and keep up the good work.

Thanks Showdown, glad you like it.

Yeah Bayonne is an ok place. I live up near the Jersey City line, but not close enough to be in the ghetto. It's fairly nice where I live. I really don't know Jersey too well, I barely know how to get to Stop and Shop :(
