Anyone given this new $99 newbie a try? It sounds pretty good for a home studio, but I haven't been able to actually find one in a store.

I'm particularly interested in its "EQ shape control"although I have no idea of what this actualy does? Anyone know? I see an on/off switch in the front, but for what? Is the EQ adjustable?

Thanks for any input.

yah

I haven't really seen this particular product your talking about but 8 headphone amps in one unit ...not too shabby at all especially for 99 bucks... the eq is just for like tweking the sound you get in your headphones (bass, mid, treble) like in a car how the stereo has those built in eq's to get a better sound ... I dont mess with the eq comming out of my headphones or speakers though when recording I only do it in the mix so I know EXACTLY how it sounds. I have the behringer power play pro headphone amp... I HATE BEHRINGER and alot of people in this forum think they suck too but for a headphone amp I have no problem with it and it gets the job done. it's not like it's an effect unit for putting on cd so the headphone amp by behringer isn't so bad for 99 bucks... so if 99 bucks is your limit I'd just go with that one.

I haven't tried the Sampson but the $99 Behringer HA4700 isn't too bad for the money. I've been able to get plenty of gain for the musicians.

Thanks, all. FYI, I just word from a vendor that the EQ control is just a bass boost.

Best,
J.
