Strange person.
Hey, has anybody used any of these new little behringer toys? They're all AU$80 and they look like they could be fun to play around with, obviously not to use for my main units but they might be handy to have around.

there's always someone ripping off someone else, it's a fact of modern life

anyhoo I'm curious about the mic pre, I would've had one but they were out of stock & I havn't bothered ordering another one

hey Enchilada your reps gone green :)

that modelling preamp seems pretty neat. Same with the graphic eq. Behringer are okay in my book. I own a vamp2 and think it's great and a steal at under 100 bucks.

Sorta like a Macdonald's dollar menu, for "prosumer audio" gear....

I don't know about the rest, but I have had the the mon800 for a couple of months, and it works pretty good for a talkback mic, speaker and headphone control - all for $39.

That's crazy. Why does'nt behringer at least rip off classic stuff instead of everyone else's cheap gear?

It might last longer than a session or two.

Yeah it changed after a gave up on that other thread. I think that was a smart move gos we were getting nowhere

Was thinking mainly of getting the MON800 Stereo Monitor or AMP800 Headphone Amp

wat do u guys think of the EQ....its cheap and i think it would be fun to have..i only own one piece of barangeer gear..my controll surface..and its satisfactory for my purposes (hip-hop vocals)..what do u guys think? complete crap or worth the money?

if it's anything like the eq that's in my behringer mixer, it's super ultra maximized world class pro studio british designed................crap. :D

why would you need a graphic eq for recording anyway? besides, think about it. it's very small, made of plastic, designed by some other cheap gear company, re-engineered by behringer, and it costs $40. seriously, how good do you think it is?

i almost bought one of those small samson.......i mean behringer headphone amps but my senses came about me. i do own a behringer 2642a mixer that i use for monitor mixing. i bought it because of it's extensive routing options and because i'm learning about electronics. surely it will give me some hands on practice soon. :D also, it's a piece of eye candy to the red neck's that i typically hang out with. throw it on the desk in front of my monitor and whalla! instant studio thru red neck eyes.

on the other hand, it's nice of behringer to launch a line of products that cost 1/3 of their other cheap crap. when it dies, it only cost you 1/3 of the money of their other crap. plus, in six months, alot of it will be on ebay for even less. now that's cheap gear shoppin'.

i cant see a talkback station and a headphone monitor being THAT terrible. but i myself wouldent go for the eq or pre. and especially not the compressor.

in another thread about headphone amps someone mentioned that alot of the cheaper headphone amps really crap out when running a few pairs of quality headphones. that helped me decide not to get the little behringer hp amp. i'm glad too because i got a good deal on a hp4.

I have the minimon, and its working great, the headphone amp that is built into is crap, but volume control for my monitors and switching between my two sets of monitors is just fine. I can't imagine they would have improved the headphone amp in the amp800, so just assume that is crap.

Hip Hop and Behringer are a perfect match! Knock yourself out.

I love how some people are arrogant enough to make fun of other people's music without knowing anything about it.

yep. Nice one.

Behringer, the "WALMART" of cheap, lo-end audio gear, is merely an adequate alternative for the 1st-time/part-time, recording enthusiast &/or those on a severly limited budget needing that certain processor/unit.
Behringer has successfully garnered a decent share of the audio-gear buying public by manufacturing cosmetically appealing & attractive components constructed with re-furbished electronics & circuitry on a beggar's nickle from Malaysia. Along with an overly "hyped" marketing ad campaign touting thier products as the ultimate or equal in professional quality & perf of any unit in it's category and priced at the cost of 4 Big Macs, a large fries & a hash brown, Behringer is making a KILLING profit-wise (Uli Behringer is a GENIUS) selling audio gear that is occasionally unreliable during perf with inferior parts & construction & absolutley NO originality in design.

Rather than seek and create an audio-benchmark, standard, signature of thier own, Behringer sacrifices birthing thier own original audio-tech identity
by stone-cold copying the patents and trademarks of others The argument that every-1 copies off another in some way or another can't hold a jock strap when it comes to Behringer. While some companies do copy a few features here and there of another, Behringer's blantant disregard of copyright infringment laws...- - -producing exact replications of gear made by others; using cheap alternatives & shortcuts to save on cost, has made
Beh a "walking lawsuit" (I'm considering suing Beh for pain and suffering incurred using thier PRO DSP 1000 6 yrs ago) as listed below.

Bob Mackie & Co. filed suit against Behringer's for the outright copying the design of thier VLZ line of mixers and monopolization of a certain audio retailer.

Roland Gear sued then eventually settled with Behringer over it's false assurance to industry retailers that thier line of pedals, which are straight duplicates of Roland/Boss's line, was approved and endorsed by Roland itself. Said Roland chief, Dennis Houlihan, "Behringer's replication of the famous BOSS trade dress has caused extensive damage to Roland and it's reputation, and Behringer's false claim that has endorsed Beh's unadulterated infringement is unconscionable".

QSC Audio Products has also filed a complaint asserting Behringers use of POWERLIGHT on powered lighting products infringes QSC's reg'd POWERLIGHT trademark for its amplifiers.

Finally, the FCC fines Behringer for making and marketing unauthorized
radio freq'y devices.

Folks, there are many alternatives other than Beh when you need a particular
efx/dynamic processor, pre, modeler, etc. You will read OPINIONS of those who sings it praises and those who d@mn it to h#ll.
All I can say is audition (if possible) any unit you are considering purchasing
& question how & why a co. like Behringer, can sell a 48/24 board called the MX9000 for something like 1050-1200 brand new! ;) ;)

Totally impossibly for me to audition anything. There's 2 music shops where I live and neither stock much recording gear. The closest thing is one shop stocks a "phonic" preamp and the other shop stocks a presonus bluetube pre.
That's as far as it goes, and neither want to stock up on recording gear just for me to audition it.
Everything I buy is online and that's why these forum are so important.
