new jazzmaster

what is the verdict? I played one in the store and loved it but I hear they can be a bit quirky. I was wondering what jazzmaster owners thought of their guitars over a period of time. I'd like to hear some input before I make the commitment.

I have a 66' Jazzmaster and a reissue Jaguar. I have changed out the pick-ups on the Jaguar with Duncans. I love both guitars, I definitely like the Jazzmaster better, the neck is thick and it is kind of like holding a baseball bat. The only thing with the Jazzmaster is that it is really noisy with distortion, if the feed back doesn't bother you than you will probably like it. I do.

What pick-ups come as standard on the jazzmaster, p90's?

Not P90's but something similar. It is a fat soapbox single coil fender pick up. I bet it would be cool to through some p90's in a Jazzmaster though.
