after a couple of tries getting a computer daw to actually work right etc......
and I'm not a computer idiot..........I finally gave up..................
was discussing this with a friend about getting some older analog stuff
and he said one of our friends had some stuff.
so I got ahold of this friend and I knew he had a decent studio
well, turns out he wanted out of it completely and now i have quite a
bit of stuff........so I go from basically almos nothing to this........
teac 80-8 looks really super clean, head are good, been serviced recently
pair of tasacam 238 decks with sync unit
several patch bays
carvin 1608 console
and some auratone t66 clones for monitors
plus remotes etc for everything, receipts books etc.....
stuff is all one owner smoke free studio.............
looks like i got lots of fun ahead of me eh?

Sweet! You've got a good foundation with that 80-8. The 238s are nice to have around as well. There is ALOT of information to be found in this forum. Search through some of this stuff and it will go a long way in getting you started, from tapes, maintenance, and whatever analog related advice you are looking for. Congrats and good luck man.;)

i will try to get some pics up this weekend.........super busy but i will try
nice is that the stuff doesn't look as old as it was, seems to have been very well taken care of.

Yup, you really can't go wrong with the stuff you now have. Learn to service & maintain it yourself, keep it covered when not in use and it'll serve you for a lifetime. Nice setup.:)

here's some pics.........

here's the last two............
the board has two mods that i know of..........
phantom power can be turned off on first four channels........
former owner said sometimes he have weird problems with dynamics if useing phantom power on other channels so he made it so you could turn off a couple channels
the other switch is an Internal Re-route of Buss' to add flexiblity on Mixdown
everything seems great on the board just foam in roadcase is starting to rot.

then there's the 80-8, pic doesn't do it justice,
very nice shape, has dc motors, two speed controlors with it and a digital remote, that's the sensor for it on the front.

next is the rack of patchbays with a box of rca patch cords included

next, the 238s with a ats500 sync unit and remotes again i dind't get a great pic

pic of the digital remote for the 80-8

and the monitors..............

plus another box with the noise reduction for the 80-8, spare motors, extender card, manuals, take up reel, etc...........
also he loaned me some lt sound noise reduction units in case the 80-8 unit doesn't work, long story, it was working fine but he wanted to be sure i had a unit that would work. anyone tried them before?
also bought two lt sound echo units...........pretty cool, love the echo from them........basically an analog delay with reverb........

Nice set up. I'm looking forward to hearing some tunes posted when you get some done.

That's a nice rig man! I really do dig it.

Great setup!

I don't know if you noticed the title of this part of the forums . . . "ANALOG ONLY." Just thought I'd reitterate that this isn't about DIGITAL, but ANALOG. Plus, hijacking threads to pimp another site is uncool.

Thanks
