I used to be nothing but a Fender guy for decades, but an Epiphone Les Paul Special in TV yellow started to change my mind. It's an amazing guitar.

This one is even better. It's as nice as any guitar I've played. The finish is gorgeous and flawless, the fretwork is immaculate, beautiful binding and dark cherry back and sides, action was perfect right out of the box, pickups sound awesome.

At this point, what else do you want in a guitar?
A different name on the headstock?

You're from Waukesha and you didn't start off with a Les Paul? That's almost sacrilegious! :P

For years, I only had humbuckers, then I added a few single coils. I've become a big fan of the P90 the last couple of years. Enjoy!

Ha! I'm actually from TX and didn't move to Waukesha until 2021. 😉 We're actually in Franklin now (South Milwaukee suburb); I guess I need to change my info on here. 🙂

Yes, I'm really digging the P90s as well.

I find the bits on those bridges just a bit too pointy for comfort.
Turned them round on my Epiphone Dot.
Are you talking about the string saddles? That's interesting. I hadn't noticed any discomfort. Different for everyone, though, I'm sure!

I am a super fan of Epiphones and I love them all. I have one of most every flavor: an IBG J-45, an Emperor II Joe Pass, an LP 'Burst, an LP Special (Goodwill find!), and a Casino.
I was looking at the new '59 JB LP Custom reissue. To that end, I listed my Gibson Gold Top Standard w/ P90s last night, and sold it in 1.5 hours!. I won't miss it.
However, looking at your new guy, I think I'm gonna buy one.
NOW!

Good to hear! 🙂

I have to say, this is far and away the most beautiful guitar I've ever owned (IMO, obviously), and it plays incredibly well. It's moved into my "won't ever sell" category faster than any guitar I've owned. If you buy one, I can't imagine you'll regret it one bit! 😉

A while ago I played a friends Epi LP, and I loved it. The one thing I notice was that it had "GIBSON" on the truss rod cover. It had the perfect neck and I fell in love with it.
I searched and found a 'Burst with that same truss rod cover, which I bought. Trust be told, it was light years better than the Gibson Gold Top I just sold. The only thing I did to it was install a set of Seymour Duncan Phat Cat P90s. Like you, this is on my "Keeper" list.
The one thing I have noticed, is, IMO, that Epis made in Korea are the best. Indo and China, meh. YMMV. I love all mine.
