Well, they don't look as fancy as the Behringers, but they're a hell of a lot harder to break, and they WILL cover your entire ear.
The problem is not so much that they don't cover my entire ear. The cushions rest on my ears but that's fine. It's just that the headset can't be adjusted wide enough to span my big skull. 1/4 inch extra would have made a lot of difference.

The Moreme headphones look appealing. I'll be in the US in the summer and I have a shipping address in Virginia where I can pick them up but I have to sort out some credit card issues first..

Some people who bought the MoreMe headphones noted a hollow midrange sound which bothered them. Here's an exchange from my forum:

Got my pair of MoreMe's the other day and DO NOT HESITATE to throw some foam in the earcups. I was pretty disappointed by the boxy resonance and lack of isolation (they barely seemd any different than open airs) but now they're my favorite headphones. Seriously, the highs do sound rolled off but I think the midrange is fabulous. The AKGs won't be used much anymore.

Hey, they're only $20 bucks. I think I'll leave that as a user modification (that would still be under warranty). It's very easy to open them up (no tools required), and you could use Kleenex as the stuffing material.

I'd place one layer over the earphone driver (to prevent any loose pieces from touching the speaker cone), then loosely wad some Keenex till you fill the cavity, close them up and you're done. Foam or insulation would also work about equally well.

I'll put modification instructions in the box for future purchasers.

Plugs pulling apart ?

If any of you are having problems with the 1/4" plug pulling off of the 1/8" pulg. You can put a piece of heat shring tubing on the plugs and it holds real good! That's what I did.

I guess you could use tape too ?

How long is the coiled cord when NOT stretched-out on the MoreMe cans? And how far will the cord stretch?

Right out of the box, the cord is about 2' long. Stretched, it'll probably go to around 6'. On the good side, if you leave it unstretched, and use a headphone extension cord, if someone tries to walk out with their headphones still on, the jack will simply unplug, saving everything.

It seems someone is always forgetting to take the headphones off too...

OK, here's the timeline....
Friday night - the website had a small ordering problem.
Harvey fixed it the same night.
I ordered 5 headphones and a few microphone clips on Friday night.
Harvey sent them out Saturday morning.
I got them today! (Monday)

That's incredible service. I did not pay extra for any special shipping or rush handling.

The headphones are quite usable. They are a bit light, but stay on my head just fine. Initial sound check on my keyboard, just playing around and playing the demo -- they sound just fine. For the price I paid, they sound amazing. I am extremely pleased with how this worked out.

Thanks Harvey
Got mine today (Monday). Pretty good for $20. I recommend.

PS Hey Harvey, while your looking for some cheap stuff. I would like a flex tube like thing with a clip on one end to hold music sheets (paper) that can attach to a mic stand.
My regular music stand is in the way and everyone keeps knocking it over.
Any thoughts?

John,

I already sell a spring loaded mic holder that you could mount on a boom arm and it'll hold sheet music just fine. It's called the MoreMe clip mic holder and it sells for $2.50 each. (Radio Shack sell the same thing for $4.99, and Musician's Friend sells them for $3.99.) It's on the MoreMe page at:

http://www.ITRstudio.com/moreme.html

Most stores also sell a cheap gooseneck but I'm not sure how much they charge. I can probably get them for about $5 each.

Then they might knock you mic over?

Transferring my funds for Paypal payment today.

Will order in 3 days or so. 3 pair.

Thanks Harvey.

I almost F'ed up and bought some more sonys for people to step on and tear up.

Just ordered 4 :)

I've broken at least 8 pairs of those Hall o fames. Gee, I wonder why they were discontinued.

Anyway, thanks Harvey, I had been planning on buying 4 more pairs of Sony MDR-V700s, but the way I go through headphones (and boom stands... got any of those?), I'm sure this was a better bet.

I just got the five sets I ordered.
They are exactly as Harvey described.
Pretty cool for the cheap price.

And I think the color coding will come in
handy...

You mount it on a second mic stand.
That's what I do... however, if their music stand was in the way... then a second mic stand may also be in the way.

i should follow-up and mention that:

1. i got these headphones within 2 or 3 days (after ordering late at night)
2. they appear pretty tough
3. they actually sound pretty decent-not perfect, but more than acceptable for tracking. the pads sit a little oddly on my ears, but so did that style of pads on roughly 98752398475938754978 other pairs of headphones i've used. this is a user-correctable issue, and not reflective on the product.
4. it's difficult for me to argue that their is a set of headphones under $100 bucks that is more worth it for tracking/etc.

i will try stuffing the cups and see how that affects sound/comfort. my left ear seems to like folding and scraping against the plastic grille over the (mylar?) speakers.

all in all, no complaints. good stuff.

Got my headphones today, exactly as described. Considering how much they cost, they sound surprisingly good. I think you would be hard pressed to find a better pair under 50 bucks. Thanks ITR.

I'm pleased that everybody seems to comfirm the fact that these are a good value, but I'm really looking forward to when people actually start "using" them with good results (or even better, when people start "abusing" them, and still get good results).

If you're looking for just one good set of headphones, they ain't bad, but they're not gonna replace your Sonys, Sennheisers, AKGs, or Beyers any time soon. But, if you want some phones you can pass out to other musicians without worrying about what they'll do to them, these are damn near perfect.

Picked up 2 today for now.
Harvey, I will let my 5 year old use a pair when Im not tracking.

He will test them out. LOL
