New Bass

I didn't try the ESP, but I played several Ibanez 200s. The action on all was lower out of box, which produced too much fret buzz for my recording work. I'm sure the action could be adjusted to help, though. Besides its lack of any buzz whatsoever, what sold me on the Yammy was its slightly heftier neck and unique body shape, which some people seem to love or hate. It fits me perfectly, but that's why actually auditioning guitars can be so important. I always search for the one that speaks to me.

I've played many ibanez basses and they're pretty good but I'd go for the ESP. I haven't played it but I've played the Viper Bass and it was incredible and ESP
makes good affordable basses and guitars and the LTD line is handmade.

Got any recommendations for a decent starter amp? Just for practice cause Im sure i'll be doing all the recording direct. Don't guess my hot rod deluxe 10 wouldn't work would it?

Fender Rumbles are good but it really depends how much you wanna spend

I've tried some of the others, but for the price (and a little bit of tweaking) the "Ibanez GSR200" interested me the most. It had the clearest tone...plus it has active electronics.

I've played that bass and it isn't that great. The action is terrible and the tone pick-ups aren't great even though they are active.

I have that Ibanez and it is quite good and it has much better pick-ups and sound then the GSR200
