Neoprene substitute

If I were to buy an old wetsuit from a Goodwill type of store for cheap, would it be a good material to use under a floating floor if I cut it into strips?

I doubt it woiuld be thick enough for that RF - neoprene is just synthetic rubber - so check out your local rubber shop.
