Landlord? As in ...RENTAL? Ah, I don't think hes the ONLY one with the approval stamp here. 
I don't know where you live, but if its in the US, Great Britan, or most of Europe.....NOT! You said its a flat. This means there are other tenents in the building. This means its a MULTI FAMILY Building. Which means MOST countrys have very strict BUILDING CODES, and your planning on building a CONTROL ROOM, with a floor, walls and a roof, and if you plan on ANY form of isolation, it means its HEAVY! Which translates into possible Structural FAILURE at the point loads. Personally, I believe you're being very naive or you know something I don't. Like your landlord is your uncle or something. No matter, failure to get a permit under these circumstances, and getting caught or not getting caught and something happens....er I think you need to tell us some things here before you spend too much time on this idea.

Thanks Fitz for the pointing that out. Believe me. I wouldn't have even thought about it unless I talked with my landlord first.
The structure of the building will defiantly hold. I live with an architect and she and a structural engineer has confirmed it will hold. Also my neighbor has a huge hot tub on his side of the roof terrace. No problems there also.
My landlord has given me the ok to build something up there as long as I can take it down if I ever move. My main concern is the council. Those are the douches that will make or break this plan and I'm doing nothing until they say it's okay to build. It's all well and good getting permission from my landlord but the council are the ones who ultimately decide on what can be built and where.

On the left side where you're closer to the wall, I'd recommend something thicker behind the curtains when mixing. It's not just a high frequency issue over there. You'll get a significantly different lower mid/bass response on the left than on the right.

I Think I'm just going to make some bass traps and put them on stands to cover the window on my left. That way I can move them when I need access to the terrace.

I was think of buying the 4" option and using them for bass traps on the larger bare walls in my room. In front of my desk and behind my desk. To give it a bit of a classy look as well as doing it's job. Much like this studio.

I don't like foam.
You could make your own an awful lot cheaper too. I bought packs of 10 4'x2'x2" rocksilk RS45 for £20 each(£2 each panel). Then it's just the cost of the frames(£1.41 each frame - Smooth Planed (L)2400 x (W)34 x (T)18mm from B&Q) and fabric(4'x2' for back, and 5'x3' for front - so under 2yards of 60" fabric, each panel - check ebay). Could work out at £5 each 2" panel, if you find a good deal on fabric, and £7 per 4" bass trap). Could be the best £100(or less) you ever spend!
To hang mine, i just used mirror plates. 4 per panel. The corner bass traps were a struggle, but they still worked.

What? I bought my foam. Pack of 10 4'x2' 50mm for £29.99 That's £10 more. Oh well. I'm going to make bass traps out of them just wondering what you guys thought about these.

Good. What stuff did you buy and from where? £30 is still good. £3 each. Could make panels for £6-9 each if you find 60" fabric for 80p/yard.
