I've always done this copying and labels myself, but i may want my next demo to have printing on the cd. I've been searching, and it looks confusing. I'm interested in your experiences with printing and/or duplicating services. I've been messing around with mixonic's "create a project" section, but it's frustrating, i don't have a scanner, and i haven't heard back from them yet. I'm really not seeking the "professional" look; i mean these are my sketches. I want the homemade feel, and just want to save myself some trouble. At the least, i want a white background on the cd with fluffy, black outlined letters of my name. I may decide to get a 2 panel insert with a slim line case and shrinkwrap, if the price is right. i'd need to send in sketches for the inserts (black and white). If possible, i'd like a service who can do a run of 100; i've seen alot that will not do anything with that number of cdr's. Thanks for any info - D

You might be better off getting an inkjet printer that will print onto CDs, and some inkjet printable CDs. One popular printer is the Epson Stylus Photo R200.

Of course, DiskFaktory will do small runs. You can get 100 for $250.

Of course, it's all up to you...

I've used an EpsonR200 for a year now to do audio CDs and video DVDs.
Love it; it works great.

....but if I had to do more than a couple of dozen, I'd get 'em professionally duplicated. Takes a bit of time and it's rather boring work to sit there swapping discs.

For $1,000 and up you can get automated disc factories from companies like Bravo that burn and print from a stack of discs, but unless you're going to do a LOT of them it's not worth it. Just go to a duplicating service.

I have had really great luck with QCA in Cincinnati OH. The fact that they are only like an hour away makes it easier, but they do great work.
