Need Overhead drum mic

At the moment, Yamaha mx200's phantom power seems not to work I have tried several condenser mics for overheads for the drum.

Could someone recommend me a condenser mic for use as overhead for the drums which is battery-powered? This is a church setup and we are wanting to record live. Or is there a cheaper way. Thanks,

The MXL 1006 is dual powered, but a cheaper solution might be a cheap phantom power box if you arleady have the mic that you would otherwise use.

I assume you checked to make sure the phantom power was switched on.

As far as battery powered overheads go: don't get the AKG C1000s. The Rode NT3s might not be a bad choice, but I've never heard them.

You can always get a phantom power supply. Rolls makes one and so does ART.
