NEED HELP with Tascam FW-1884 and s/pdif out

I was under the impression that i can get a pure digital audio signal using the s-pdif/coaxial out if i had monitors which had coaxial ins. Went to my local Guitar Center and the sales rep who sold me the cables also said this was so...i go home...hook up the cables...and nothing...no audio...i have the Roland DS50a's....is there anyone that can help? is there any special settings or anything i should do to get the audio to work?

make sure your routing master out to spdif.... should be in device manager (similar named) tab in your software good luck... bob
