Need Help with my Setup

Okay so here's the hardware I have:
Casio WK-210
FocusRite Saffire 6 USB
SM-57

The Casio keyboard doesn't have a MIDI port, but it does support MIDI through the USB port in the back. So I have that plugged straight into my computer. And my interface is plugged into the computer as well through USB. Is the Casio going to be a nuisance to use for MIDI? Should invest in something else, like a synth or controller?
Also, the music I'm going for isn't really MIDI based, more INPUT based, but I do want to have the option of a good MIDI. What should I do?

EDIT: Sorry if I should have posted in MIDI Mania or someplace else.
 
It shouldn't be a nuisance. Your DAW should recognise it as an input and output midi device, and should recognise your interface separately
 
Yes, what DAW are you using? In Reaper, the MIDI device and audio devices are separate, I have mine (Casio WK500 and Tascam US800) set up that way.
