Hi all,
Well it's coming down to a week or two before I begin work on my FIRST home studio. YEE HAA!!. I'm really excited about it. I'm converting a two car garage. The dimensions are about 19x19. I think I'm going with the double wall approach. I know it probably won't be 100% sound proof but I feel that it will be good enough to prevent ticking off the neighbors.
Anyway, the reason I need help is this: I have a basic idea for a plan but since this is my first attempt, I want to make sure I do things right and not leave anything out. I plan on having a control room and a drum/vocal iso booth built in the room. This garage is perfectly square so I know I need to do something about the standing waves issue. Does anyone have any pointers they can give me on things like, prefered control room size/drum room size, placement in the room (ie in the corners facing eachother with glass in between them or the two rooms hooked together), wiring issues (should I run a certain type or amount of wiring in the walls now before I have to tear them up later
.
Basically just anything that you think would help me in this type of space to get the most out of it.
Thanks you guys. Your expertise is invaluable.
God Bless!
