Don't stare at the eye.
It's been forever since I've done this, and I can't seem to get the mfr on the phone so I'll ask here. I've bought a new loaded pick guard for one of my Strats, and I need to connect it to the guit body (obviously).
From the guitar body I have
1) a black and white wire coming from the jack plate.
2) black wire mounted to wood in the pickup cavity
3) black wire mounted to metal (the anchor plate of the whammy bar assembly)
From the pick guard I have
1) Black wire with a ring on the end, coming from the volume pot
2) Black wire without a ring (also coming from the volume pot)
3) A shielded pair coming from the volume pot (the pair contains a black and white wire)
If I'm figuring this correctly, the shielded pair (black and white) from the pick guard goes to the black and white from the jack plate. The black wire from the pick guard with the ring goes to the black wire in the pickup cavity (mounted to wood). And the black wire from the pick guard without the ring goes to the black wire from the whammy hardware in the body.
Am I close?
