Need Help Bad !!!!!!!

I have been waiting a year for my computer 2 be installed with pro tools and nuendo together - I was told this was possible and would be done in a week - 1 year and 2 months later I took it back and was told by the guy installing both programs that he was having problems - I was wondering if this is possible or if these 2 programs wont run together ? - I have the software - a digi 001 rack - a DAC2000 rack and 2 sound cards - not reallly sure what 2 do but its time I had my recording studio up and running - any help would be appreciated .

he's having problems installing the software? or the hardware? or getting both to work together?

I don't see why there should be any issues with both software or all that hardware on the same computer. Should be able to just install each hardware device one at a time and then the software. Now are you trying to get both programs running at the same time to record to each? What exactly is the problem he's having?

What version of Pro Tools are you trying to run on the 001?

Pro Tools LE version 5.1.1 - He also siad he couldn't find the drivers to make nuendo run with the rack (sta DAC2000) I know he lost the original software disk - but he said he got 1 from his friend 4 me - He's family so i didnt complain about the time , but 1 year come on now - Do u think he just didnt take the time to do it ? I got at my house now my computer built from scratch - a digi 001 rack w/soundcard and pro tools - the dac2000 rack w/soundcard and no software - Can i do this myself ?

most people do
unless you know absolutely nothing about computers, it should take you just a few hours to do it all. If there are installation problems most of them can be resolved within a day.

I don't suppose you accidentially sent your computer to a preschool or something odd like that, eh?

The programs shouldn't conflict with each other, unless you run them at the same time and try to use both of them to access the same bit of hardware at the same time.

With a look at the manuals, and a little help from places like this, you sohuld be able to set up your own computer in much less than a week.
I had to rebuild my computer the other day (HDD head crash and PSU death- I work my machines hard) and was mixing the next morning.

Are these two programs I have ideal for making instrumentals from scratch and recording vocals on them ? And does any1 what I can do about not having the nuendo software and only the rack and soundcard for it -?

Well, you should be able ot use the rack unit and soundcard with any ASIO software- that's why standards like ASIO and DirectX exist ('cept DX is more for games and applications)

Shouldn't this be the line being taken with your family member who dicked you around for 14 months?
I've read through the responses &, given the limited info you've presented, they seem to point you in the right direction., ie:
1. READ the MANUALS, scanning for conflict esp;
2. install them & try;
3. get back to the forum if you find a specific prob;
4. try contacting the manufacturers;
5. enrol in anger management classes - you've misdirected your frustration
6. be honest with your relative - you might get a real answer
&
7. cancel your membership of the forum & re join when you've a grip on your personal problems.

I can't believe that you have a go at the people trying to help you out- how much of a muppet are you if you come here and say you have pro-tools, nuendo etc and ask whether 'i can make instrumentals and record vocals with that'.

What do you think they do?

Fair enough if you asked nicely and just took help, but you didn't, you said stupid things and now you probably feel stupid. Good luck with your programs, I think you might need it

So the cocksmoker bought a used Digi 001 and downloaded Nuendo...and can't get them to run together...I say blow nuts until you buy something. Hell would freeze over before I'd spend $2,000 on Nuendo to let it set on a shelf at my ignorant ass brother-in-law's house...which further tells me your program is pirated.

Why even respond to this type of situation. I have said it before, it's like wrestling with a pig, the pig will love it and you will just get all dirty and pissed off.

For years I have been learning from the folks here. It just takes some understanding that we are a bunch of players that are willing to help under the right circumstances, but when a person comes here putting out bad vibes not much help comes their way. Seems they 1st need an attitude change.......then maybe some help would be offered.
