HR Mix - short and sweet so far Tim - could use about 3:00 more of this :) .

I agree - drop the rhythm at the very beginning.

The vocals seem loud at the get-go but that feeling subsides after a bit....

Good collab - seriously good....

Looking forward to more....

:) :D :) :D

Here's an experimental mix of the first vocal verse with drums, bass, rhythm & lead ac gtr just to show where I'm headed with it.

HR Blues

I'm probably trying to make each part too loud, and the rhythm gtr should be silent during the drums' first pickup notes, but it's a start. More to come with all the great parts you guys tracked.

Tim
That's nice vox and nice guitar playing. Very slow guitar. :)

No comments on the mix so far.

The track's coming along nicely. :)

gummblefish-cool lyrics you have there and the vocal delivery sounds very good. Your accent goes well with the blues as well. Is the lead guitar you're playing Timothy? It has a resonator guitar tone to it, or is it a regular steel string? It all is sounding great!

gummblefish - What kind of mic did you track the vocal with? Sounds very good. Oh, and what should we name the song? I figure since you wrote the lyrics it's your call.

Tim

Hey Tim, sounding good, cant wait to hear the finished thing. Everyone does a good job on this. I didnt really sit down and write lyrics they just fell out whilst i did a rehearsal of the track to get ideas. I usually write like this anyway,I kind of spew from my consciousness, when i get in that state things just come. They were tracked in one take and the "lyrics" formulated on that take. I tracked these believe it or not with an SM57. Going through a Roland MMP-2 then into an Edirol FA-101, then to CuBase. No compression or Dynamics. I have been Developing a new Technique for Singing, especially with dynamics. Im very Humbled that i was asked to sing on this, especially by someone of your caliber, ive never been comfortable with my voice but i have learned to accept it. Thats why i do most things in one take, if i didnt i would be there forever and still not be happy. I was Thinking "Hobo Dog Blues no. 3" for a Title, but im not sure. Maybe "Post-Coitus Adventures in Regret and Reflection" Maybe a bit too wordy!

Mshil-
No, but I'm pretty good at crossfades
And here I was convinced you were the Kenny G of the didgeridoo. Next you’re going to tell me it was tracked with a piezo. :D

Dogman, ido, bigbubba, lbanks – Thanks much for the feedback.

Anfontan – that’s me on the lead guitar so far. It’s just a regular small bodied steel string but it’s got a set starting with .009.

Gummblefish – thanks for the info. The lyrics are really good. I’m surprised they were off the cuff.

More mixing soon. I’m experimenting with a lot of options and had to move to a different system and software to handle all the tracks, so I’m slow on it.

Tim
