Hi, I'm new to home recording so I hope someone can help me. I'll do my best to be clear. Skip to the two questions at the end if you like.
I have my V-amp2 plugged into the analog in's of my audiophile 2496. The analog out's of the soundcard are plugged into the "Tape in" jacks of my small Eurorack UB502 mixer. (mixer is only to listen to the 2496 output, nothing is pugged in)
I have no monitors or PC speakers, only headphones plugged into the phones jack of my mixer. (I know this is bad for monitoring but I have no choice). When preparing to record guitar onto a track, I'm listening through my headphones. I paractice my guitar along with the song until I'm ready to record.
As soon as I arm the audio track I want to record the guitar to, I get a "doubling up" of guitar sound. I get the "Tape in" or soundcard output sound which is all tracks being played including the guitar and then another layer of guitar from the soundcard input (selected in HS as the "in" in the audio track) which is now armed to record or recording. If I unarm the guitar track the doubled guitar ends and the whole deal sounds like it should. With monitors or even PC speakers this would not be a problem.
Is there a way for me to arm an audio track, have it's output muted but still recording?
How should I connect my equipment to get best results? I only use guitars.
V-Amp2
Eurorack UB502
Audiophile 2496
No monitors, no PC speakers
Only Headphones.
Thanks, Daniel
