Who often is NAMM? I guess it's a bad idea to bye a VS-1680 right before roland comes out with new models? Do you think the prices are going to fall on the VS-1880? Or is there a newer model of the 1880 coming? Roland probably keep it pretty classified.... But the thing is that I have a gotten a good price on the 1680 until Monday, but I'm not sure if I should wait til the new models are in the shops...I wouls appriciate some help..Thanks

I'm going to the NAMM show as a guest of Roland. I'll return on 1-22 and will update here.

mmm..

I wish i was going too..but I live in Norway so it's not that easy (cheap :) But does Roland usually come out with new VS studios? Should I wait?

The only thing that I can add here as that typically when a new product comes out, it has a higher price tag on it for all the new bells and whistles they add. If you can get a good price an a 1680 and that will suite you needs, I would get it (if it truely is a good price). As far as the deadline, it sounds like you are being preasured by a sales person to close a deal. Just use caution.

OMG, you guys aren't going to believe what they will introduce at NAMM... say no more... all will be revealed.

Sounds cool, but man is that a lot of money. I could do a lot more with that kind of money going to a computer. I could spend half that on the computer and software and still have the other half to buy all kinds of other stuff.

Back from NAMM. Roland brought out a new 24 track recorder.
Roland will release a new free download-able software for the BR-8 that will convert the BR-8 files to wav and back again, if you have a ZIP drive for your PC. The one thing I don't like about the software was that you could only convert 2 tracks at a time.
