I recorded this with a studio projects c1 in the middle of my room, pointing straight at a wall. It is running into a DMP3, and then into a delta 1010, then into adobe audition. The room has hardwood floors. It is not treated.

There is a low hum in the recording, that is my computer fan, but the noise that bothers me more is the hiss. I suspect it exists due to inferior cords, though I would like to get opinions from others.

Sounds like a microphone with the gain cranked up picking up the PC. Turn the gain down or get a better pre and sound proof the pc some and see how it turns out.
