Does anyone here use N-tracks, I know there is a forum but there isnt much info on it.
Just wondering what you guys think about it, its only $49. Or should I save up some money and get a better program.

I use it all the time as well as many people here. Its a great program very easy to use and very effective. I think the reason the forum for it is pretty empty is because people generally don't have problems with it. Atleast I don't.

I can't say enough about how much I love it.

I'm using N-Track 4.1. It is a great deal for the money...not sure why it's only $49 for the 16 bit version...it doesn't make any sense. I use it almost every day.

Been using it for a couple of years. Good program and has been well reviewed by several magazines.

You DO know there is a demo on the website you can try out for yourself???
It just doesn't do mixdowns and beeps occasionally to keep you honest.
All other features are intact.

I use version 2.2, as old as the hills, but once you've got the steam power running it's great! I record entirely acoustically through mikes, no D.I.'ing at all, and for me it works perfectly because I don't need to worry about how the programme works all the time, just record my tracks one after the other and then think about adding effects and mixing it. I have recorded and mixed complete finished versions with eight or nine tracks within an hour! Never done that in a tape studio, in fact I used to run a commercial eight track years ago and it gave me more problems every day than ntrack does in a year. As with all digital recording it's best to have as much RAM and hard drive space as you can possibly manage, but I started with 56mb and 6gb and still managed to get plenty done. Stick with ntrack, Flavio's a genius.........

if you have never recorded on software before, THIS is the program to buy.

what are the main features that n-track lacks that other more expensive progs like cakewalk and protools have? just curious.

Not much really and Flavio is constantly improving upon it.
One thing it doesn't offer is a suite of third party plugins, though the FASoft ones are quite decent.
Also there is not much in the way of a built in wave editor.
However, there are many free plugins out there as well as a few good wave editors.
All in all ... it's a damned good "bang for your buck" program and the learning curve is relatively simple. The support forum is a great resource as well.

Cool, thanks for the input. I think I will be purchasing it soon. I am tired of Mixcraft ever since I upgraded, I cant get it to work and I have always had little problems, I guess that is with every program. Anyway, thanks guys. I think you sold me.
