Ok, in my experiences with the dps12, we never actually mixed anything with n-track since we had 12 tracks we usually never needed more than 6-8. All we used n-track for was to put the song on the pc and normalize it. we did all the mixing direct. Now that I will be using the mr8, I wonder if my system is competent enough to run n-track to do actual mixing with.

I have a celeron at 455 mhz
15gig hard drive
128mb ram
running windows 98

its an old system.. and it was out of date the day i bought it.. as all pcs are. Will i be able to mix and put effects one at the max 6 tracks?

I have a computer with a Pentium 2, 350 MHz, 128 Megabytes of Ram, 10 Gigabyte hard drive. N-track runs excellent. I can't speak for the Celeron, however, some people seem to have good results with them. I am able to run 6 tracks with effects. The most I have had is 12. It really depends on the type of plugin you are using. I think you will be ok. Good luck.

n-Track runs poorly under Win98. I have an Athlon 750 and with W98 it spluttered and fizzled its way through. I upgraded to W2k and it runs like a dream now (well, actually it's a nightmare but that's just the quality of my music:D )

If you can find a way to upgrade the OS I would definitely recommend it.

N-Track's own FAQ suggests running the program with W2K.

Actually, just about ANYTHING under W2K is tres cool! :)
