You are now spared.

No need to get cocky because you stood up for ez but now realize he doesn't have a clue about this stuff.

Nope, sorry, that ain't gonna do it. I need a chord progression :p

I'll start with the second sentence and go no further, cutie.

EDAN was technically correct, but also technically so useless as to cause me to agree with ez.

Hey, let's up the stakes: for your chord progression, I will totally and utterly reject everything ez says. Deal?

Are we gonna keep this thing going forever or not?

Actually, Edan's description is, for the most part, quite correct.

Some followup for you, though, Edan if I may: What does it take to qualify for ASCAP membership (as an artist, not a publisher) and what is needed to register a song with ASCAP?

G.

It's been awhile, I think you have to have a song released to qualify at both, but may be it's just ASCAP. That being said I know many writers who have no songs released and are members of both, both as in either, you can't belong to both as the same time.

A song is registered with ASCAP as soon as it's written!

Do you like to watch my Mr. Evil_Sun guy eat stickbirds?
Wills you know I dig you and your sense of humor, but I still have a minor problem with how much bandwidth your sig graphics eat up ;) :D.

And BTW, A song's lyrics *are* technically copyrighted as soon as they are put to paper. There are logistical legal issues with witnessing and timestamping the written creation (and no, mailing it to one's self to get the USPS cancellation stamp is NOT good enough, actually that's another myth we could bust here), but if you have those bases properly covered, the copyright starts that instant, and not just when the Copyright Office accepts it.

ASCAP is a different story, and I'm waiting for Edan's response, which maybe already is here by the time I post this ;) .

I dunno, this is turning into a contradiction, and my wine glass is empty.

Myth: drum solos are cool :p

I record mostly rap and some rock. I have to dissagree. Rap is pretty easy compared to rock to record. Come on do you really think that it's easier to mix maybe 20+ tracks than it is for 4? But you did say make. And looking at today's down South bull shit I say that shit is way too easy to make... gee what if we use a keyboard an 808 and some hand clap snares! Good rap however is little different. listen to Ghostface's new album... it's good shit.

WU-TANG Bitches...

Uhmmm... I'm from what you would call "down south" and I haven't mixed a damn thing that only had 4 tracks.

The only difference between rock and rap from my standpoint is that I need to put up more microphones. :p

That explains a lot :)

Just kidding. I am too.

Nope. Sorry, only your primary instrument counts!

At least you know enough to quit while I'm ahead :) Next time you pick a fight don't pick a subject you know nothing about, kid.

And I just knew I'd piss someone off with the more than one microphone thing... :p
