My studio construction thread

I've got to admit--I don't wrap properly. When I emptied the studio space to start construction, I just unplugged everything and dumped it into bins--no wrapping, no organization.

I just posted a pic of the wires for my facebook friends and my son (who's 3 and 1/2 hours away) laughed at me! He'd have sorted and wrapped them--he's way more organized than I am. He's enjoying watching me deal with my mess from afar!

The room lights are off, and all the gear is on. For the record, this is the first time all my rack gear has been on at the same time--a good test of the new dedicated circuit for the desk.

Man that's beautiful!!!!!! It really makes me want to leave my current job (where I move all the time) buy some land and build my loft cabin studio!!!! It's awesome man. Great job!!!!

Thanks for the pic. It looks amazing!! I think I would just spend a few evenings sitting there in the dark enjoying the lights. It's a cool place to make music. Awesome job man!!

Hey Strat. man, it looks awesome. Really terrific job on the console. Bet it sounds great in there too. Well, now theres no excuse anymore. Time to get back to the music.:D
 
Probably the most heart-felt studio I have ever seen. Strat, I am in awe at the fact; you ran the course and finished strong. This is, in my opinion, one of the last pure studios around. Dream+ability+determination= Whitestrat and His studio.

Thanks seems ridiculous at this point.

This is my favorite thread to follow. I'm so impressed and in awe of the determination, love, and elbow grease that went into this.

Thanks Rick--coming from you, that means a lot. I actually fired it up for some audio last night--not recording, just listening.

I was in shock! I was literally laughing out loud at how good it sounded.

Look for a new thread on my listening results later!

I'm flattered, but you're being too kind! There are others around. And many from folks right here on this board. But again, I appreciate the encouragement.

Dude--I am humbled by that! But alas, there's not much more to follow. It's almost done. Everything in the desk is hooked up and patched together. Tonight, I'm putting back and hooking up all the guitar amps & pedals.

After that, I've got a ton of mics to set up. (Might do that tonight--who knows...)

Then a bunch of connections to test.

So I'd give it just a few days--then look for about a bajillion "it's finished" pics!
