Hey there everybody,

Myself and my bro have just uploaded this new track called So Tired Of You. The drums and some of the keyboard lines are sequences created through Reason. The rest was recorded through Samplitude 6 on two computers 2000km apart!

I'd appreciate any feedback.

Thanks

Hey man,Nice song! I'll leave the critiquing to those much more qualified than myself. The only point I will comment on is due to the compression of the file, being 128K bits/second,it sounds kinda messy. Maybe if you saved it at 192 it might be a little bit clearer and easy for people to comment on different
aspects. Like I said,I love the song!

thanks for dropping in

Hi Keith

thanks for dropping in. Don't be so hard on yourself....you don't have to be an expert to say what you like or don't like in music.

I'll look into maybe uploading a higher quality mp3 but higher quality means longer download so you've got to make the tradeoff somewhere.

A lot depends on what kind of speaker system someone has on their computer too of course.

hey Neil. Nice song. I am listening on a pc speaker, but whatever.
I like the drums, the voice and the bass. I also like the guitar, though someetimes it's a little in the back for my taste, and when it solo with the voice over it is a little too much.
That little keyboard when you start the chorus could have another timbre, something with a little more weight.
The tambourine sounds too loud for me,maybe too clean.
Overall, great song and great recording. Cheers, Andrés

nice "beatle-ish" sounding tune.

the opening piano riff had pretty much reverb on it. Then the drums and the rest sound REALLY bright and brassy sounding. Too harsh and crispy....especially the snare.

the gtrs, although playing a nice part are very grating sounding too.

The music is the best thing about this selection. I'd tend to think your monitor setup is really skewed...causing you to really boost the high end waaay too much. I had to turn it waaay down to listen, then finally off before the tune finished.. sorry.

With a good mix, this would be a great tune to listen to. I'd even think you'd get Macle (the resident pop-guru) to give it a listen and like it too. Has a very similar vibe as his stuff, in my opinion.

I agree with everything Mix said.

Love the song. Can you do this too with Reason? When I was trying it out I always came up with a techno tune. Must be something wrong with me... :)

Wo-hoo

Nice to get such positive replies.

Hey it's the first time Pedullist has liked any of my stuff :)

You're right everybody seems to use Reason for Techno or dance. I'll send the track to the software manufacturers to show we're doing something different with it. They might use it as a demo song!

Reason is good for much more than Techno stuff. I redid Christina Aguilera's Beautiful in Reason a couple of months ago and people seemed to like it a lot if I may say so myself. And it definately didn't end up as a techno tune.

Agreeing on the piano+reverb comment. Too much of it. Nice tune though, very Beatle-esque.

Very cool tune!

Really have that Beatles thing going on here. Very nice indeed. I kind of agree with the rest of the feedback regarding the mix...it sounds like it could use a bit of tweaking, but the song itself is very strong.

That is pretty great that you guys can collab over the internet that way and get the job done (for the most part)

Nicely done!

:D

there's not much to say about the mix after a mixmkr comment...

but I love Beatles and I love this song! go ahead and mix it right! :)

btw, I used also Reason until 2 weeks ago, when I got the Groove Agent, which imo, is much better.

I've used Reason and from what I know about Groove Agent, the two are hardly comparable.. They serve different purposes.

Is that right? I usually like a lot, you know? Not much of a sourpuss.... :)

[edit]I checked it, sometimes I feel I must be critical (as I like a lot)...in one of your first posts you got my occasional outburst of criticism[/edit]
