My brain hurts~effects loop question

Farking with this effects loop on my Solo 50 head.
I notice my delay can be set to -20 dBu or +4 dBu.

Exactly what effect would this have?
+4 would mean that it's expecting a stronger/louding signal, and therefore actually "quieter"?

My brain hurts.
I need beer for pain.
HELP!

you already seem to know what it's for. matching expected levels between different gear. do you hear a sonic difference? what delay are you using?

Delay is a boss giga delay, just got it.
On some presets/settings, a low rumble begins that is just OBNOXIOUS!!!
It is unexpectedly loud!!! (Blast off the dust caps loud!)
Startlingly loud....

I didn't know about the adjustability of the pedal last night when I was mucking with it, because I hadn't had a chance to RTFM!

boss does title it "the most powerful delay in the world".

if your amp has a level knob for the effects loop, start with it turned down. a continuous rumbly feedback? use the feedback control on your delay.......and the level knob. the feedback control determines how many times the the sound is echoed. if the preset is set high to infinite, you'll get a steady wall of delay.

careful, don't warp yourself into the next universe. i've done it and it's a bitch finding your way back.

I turned the feedback down, but it had not affect....

with the effects loop level turned down all the way, you should'nt be able to hear anything inserted into the effects loop. that's strange.

i would think that the controls on the delay pedal would tweak the presets. i've never ran into an effects box in which this was'nt the case.

Man, that Giga Delay is giving you some problems, eh?

At this point, all I can suggest is just experimenting with the settings both on the pedal and with the effects loop. I mean, you're on the right track running the delay through the loop. Maybe forget the presets and do some manual settings?

No further problems, just trying to figure out the "finer points" of adjustability on this thing.

My understanding is that 90% or "all the way down" is 90% dry signal. Still plenty of room for effects if they are "wet".
