my boss tuner(tu-2) is crazy!!!

when i turn it on its always on display mode(with the lights flashing and and the display goes boss tu-2, boss tu-2....?
the thing is i dont know how to turn the display mode off. in the manual sais that when i turned off and on again it will be off. but its not.
someone knows how to turn this off?

battery's almost dead?
 
I am not really sure, I put on new batterys and it went "crazy" fo a while and now is ok. I think he"s tryng to drive me mad.
 
Button on the right should do it, I had this problem and that sorted it out, it just switches modes for some reason.
