Hey Naka's,

I like the overall performance from all the musicians. The mix in general to me in my studio was lacking in some bottom end. I'm not entirely sure if the actual bass needs to be bought forward in the mix or whether the low end acroos the field needs attention.
I like the lead guitar tone and also think the overall db level could be bought up across the whole mix.

Thanx for sharing Naka's, I enjoyed my listen! :)

Well done, Nakatira, inspired song, great performance....
Good mix too,no nits for me;my taste is for a little more bottom end (~60/80hz).

Ciro

Thanks Ciro, much apreciated:)

This is really impressive, Nak, a great artistic effort!;)
You manage to capture so many different moods and the influences of all those 70's greats is evident the whole way. Is that you singing here? Great voice! Well done and hats off!

Joey :):):):)

Thanks a lot, thats me on the vox:)

Oh man...this is EPIC! I really enjoyed this, listened in my car on my commute this morning...Fantastic use of dynamics, although I do agree the levels are a little low in the intro...had to turn it up pretty loud in the beginning......vocals are just outstanding...keyboards /organ sounds killer, vocals are fantastic, agree with drossfile about the tone on the ending guitar solo...it's like buttah :D!...vocals are fantastic! About the only nit I would have is overall levels/volume...I think it just needs to be kicked up a tad...
Did I mention those vocals are fantastic?:p
Dude, congrats ...a wonderful piece of music that I find .... being inclined to this genre of music..... truly inspirational!

Thanks Axeman, great feedback.

I will after serious thought and realizing that I was a bit of I will push the mix a 5-10 dbs higher:) I have plenty of gain to add, none of the tracks are near top gain:)

Man oh man. That is really something, Naka. I have no idea how the hell you put all of this together, but thank you VERY much for doing it. I'm happy that someone, anyone, is doing anything like this anymore, and that I got to hear it. Too good for commercial radio.

I hear old Floyd, like Atom Heart Mother or Obscured by Clouds. Also reminds me of some early 70's Tull--especially the songs that have a lot of piano. Hmmmm. . . too much to get it all in one listen. If you're not going to re-post a hotter version anytime soon, then I may just have to download this.

And that reminds me. I WANT A NAKA CD!!

And it doesn't have to be an 'official' 'produced' CD. A CD-R with a bunch of your shit crammed on it would be awesome. I don't care if it's not all mastered properly or if its different musicians or if its new or old or has any other issue. Come on!!! Pretty-please?!

I`m gonna remix it with higher gain, after talking too the mastering guy, who uses analouge equipment, he said put it as loud as you wont below clipping.
So I will post a new mone soon.
I`m currently mixing 5 songs at once, trying to get them to sound a like, this tune was meant to be the standard as in soundscape.

Cd and Vinyl is on its way, I hope to send masters away real soon.
Hoping to have a new record by the end of next month:)

Thanks Gorty, I tried steering away from the low end on this mix, as I allways end up with too much:D
I`ll have a look at the lead.

cheers mate:)

Hey Naka's, the lead level is fine I meant perhaps the whole tune could be hotter by a few db's.

Cheers big ears! :)

i liked it lots. that's awsome that you're getting it mastered by the guy that did some floyd albums. it's obvious from your music that you're a fan. i thought the piano seemed a bit buried in the end but i guess the guitar is the star of the show by then. it was really good and a great song to listen to before bed. :D Tomorrow morning it's back to reality...uhg

nice.
the sound is also very good, sounds very organic. nice drumsound (important:D )
fits between king crimson, zappa etc. 70ish indeed

Thanks Gorty, there`s still some issues with the lead I`m hearing, but just a few minor adjustments and I`m there, will boost all channels up a tad

Thanks, I hear watcha sayin about the piano, it will be adjusted:)

Thanks for the comment on the cymbals, I used 2 UA solo`s and two akg414`s in a large room.
I thought they sounded great, best I`ve ever got them, Most of the Cymbals are Paiste.

Well Nak, actually only one Paiste cymbal were used :) A 10" splash.

The others were: An ooold Meinl 20" Ride, 16 and 17" Sabian HHX crash, 14" Sabian AAX studioHats, Wuhan 12" bell and a 18" Sabian Jack DeJohnette China. :)

Great job on the mix!!
